PRODUCT OF THE WEEK ???

Each week I will be selecting a product to become my 'product of the week ' .... I will research a different category each week , to find my favourite . This week I have decided to compare mascaras .
As you already know I am Rimmel VIP , and I am currently half way through a 30 day challenge , testing out the NEW Lash accelerator mascara  .I have put my loyalty to this make-up company to one side and I will be fairly comparing the 'Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara' to the 'Maxfactor 2000 Dramatic Look Calorie Mascara' , and the 'Estee Lauder Magnascopic Mascara' . All three brands have great reputations ...so which one will win my mini challenge and earn a place in my 'Product Of The Week Hall Of Fame'
Rather than write an essay on each mascara , I have decided to write a list of questions , which I will answer honestly for each mascara ...So here goes....

Is the packaging of this mascara appealing ?

Overall which is my favourite ?????????

Very close call between the NEW Rimmel Lash accelerator  mascara and the Estee Lauder Magnascopic mascara , but when considering everything including the cost of the product I would go for the Rimmel mascara , purely because it offers that little bit extra in the way of a lash grow complex .

IS THIS THE NEW TOUCHE ECLAT?

I had been hearing some pretty good things about the new LACURA concealer pen . This is exclusive to Aldi and only costs £3.59 so wont break the bank . I have always used the Yves saint Laurent Touche Eclat to highlight my cheekbones and to eliminate skin imperfections , and I normally pay around £18.00 pounds for this product . However after trying Lacura's new concealer pen I must admit I think it is on par with Touche eclat ...and is only a fraction of the cost. 
It comes in two shades -Savanna and cashmere .This is my beauty bargain of the week .

Bio Oil ??A Hidden Beauty Secret??

Bio Oil seems to of hit Britain like a storm .... This product claims to be able to even out skin tones , help improve the appearance of stretch marks and can even help improve the appearance of dehydrated and ageing skin.  My mum swears by this product and uses it before going to bed every night on her face , and believes this product has helped her skin stay looking healthy and youthful.
My little sister also  uses this product to help with her stretch marks , and honestly believes that Bio Oil does actually work and can dramatically reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars over time.
I have used this product myself over the past week now and I feel as though my skin started to feel softer and look healthier after 3 days of useage. If you are applying Bio Oil before you go to bed , be careful not to hop straight into bed after applying because it did stain my pillow cases . This is my only criticism on this product, and  I would reccomend Bio Oil to anyone reading this blog .
Has anyone else tried Bio Oil? What did you think of it ??? I would love to hear off you ?

THE SIMPLE SKINCARE DEBATE- XX

Ok all you beauty and skincare lovers.....Lets discuss Simple skincare products ....
 From the age of 12 I have been devoted to the SIMPLE SKINCARE brand . As as teenager I was introduced to SIMPLE by my mum who suggested I use their products to help my problematic teenage skin . I never suffered from acne but I did suffer from spots , mainly on my T zone (forehead , nose and chin ) . I was given a little gift set which contained a Simple cleanser , toner and moisturiser and my mum had put some cotton wool pads inside also . I suddenly felt extremely mature and from that day I followed this simple 3 step procedure every day , which would start with me cleansing and finish with me moisturising . I never once used any spot treatments I just stuck to this simple procedure and my skin corrected itself and fingers crossed I have never suffered from any skin problems since. 
What I most love about this brand is the fact they only use ingredients that are kind to our skin , and they never use any harsh chemicals or colous or perfumes , just simple goodness.  My favourite product from this brand at the moment would have to be the 'Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser' as this makes my skin feel soft and hydrated and acts as a good base before applying makeup .

I would suggest that anyone out there that is finding other brands products a little harsh for their skin ,to convert to the SIMPLE way and allow skin to be happy and void from irritation . 

I would love to hear from all of you to share your simple skincare experiences .....

NEW RIMMEL LASH ACCELERATOR MASCARA

Well what can I say a mascara that not only has the ability to lengthen and strengthen our lashes but also one that actually helps our own lashes grow . I know what you are probably thinking , yeah yeah how can a mascara actually help promote lash growth , Right ?

Well I was skeptical too , I mean to be honest when I received my letter from Rimmel inviting me to take part in a 30 day challenge , I was excited but also thinking in the back of my mind , Can this really work? Will my own rather small and puny lashes actually transform into beautifully long lashes? .

I put these thoughts to the back of my mind and focussed on the challenge ahead . I initially analysed the mascaras packaging , which is a slim black tube with a lime green lid and lime green writing on it. To be honest the packaging isnt particulary eye catching ...Infact I would of probably walked past if I was out shopping, and perhaps picked up the Rimmel Volume Flash waterproof mascara which is in a bright pink tube ....However this is me being extremely picky and really how important is packaging in comparison to the actual product ?

Upon first applying this mascara I found that the actual mascara (the gunk) was not too runny, and therefore it didnt splatter all over my eyelids (my pet hate) . I also noticed that the brush was nice and long , slender and uncomplicated making application easy . Personally I prefer a thin brush as I find it tends to help seperate my eyelashes out making them look natural rather than clogged together and looking like spiders legs. Another of my pet hates ( I do have a few when it comes to mascara and beauty products in general) is what I call 'flaky mascaras' , the ones that shed during the day , leaving bits of dried mascara here there and everywhere. I must admit this NEW LASH ACCELERATOR MASCARA did last during the day and did not flake so I was pleased by this alone , but also by the fact that the mascara held its curl throughout the day which is somehing i always look for in a mascara but always struggle to find.

The hype over this product is mainly down to the fact that it advertises additional benefits in the form of a Grow-Lash Complex which is known to have the below lash enhancing benefits:
Fortifies
Helps minimise lash loss
Nourishes
Supports lashes to grow strong & long
Renews
Helps repair & restore lashes

So far I am 13 days into my challenge and I am very impressed with this mascara , I have found that my lashes appear longer with and without mascara and they definately feel softer and in a better condition. Hands up girls i was wrong , this product actually does appear to work , in my opinion this is a great innovation from Rimmel .

I would recommend this mascara to anyone out there who is looking for a new mascara and wants a lengthening , strengthening mascara that lasts during the day

I am a little beauty blogger ,and I want to create a world for bloggers to blog away about beauty and skincare products whereby we can discuss products , share tips and give out advice to each other . I love trying out new products and reviewing them so that I can analyse product specifications and decide if they meet the mark or if they are not quite up to scratch.

Anyway a little bit about me ....My names Lydia (Lyd for short), Im 24 years old and I live in Staffordshire . I love to play all kinds of sports , anything from Tennis , to football . I love walking and running , dancing and taking trips down to my local farm to feed the animals (Although I did get bit by a very angry pig a few weeks ago ....But thats another story ) . I am a vegetarian , that loves to chat to other people, discussing anything from beauty and skincare to gigs and concerts. I love live music and I have been to see a lot of different bands , from Athlete to JLS . I love variety and learning new things ,I work in a small export office , and over the past 18 months I have completed quite a few NVQ'S to broaden my knowledge...Some may say Im a bit of a geek but I just love new challenges..Bring it on :-)
